The relentless Use It All team will be in London Road North on Friday 28th April 2023, 10 – 12.

We'll be collecting the usual, including TetraPaks, even though The Lowestoft Recycling Centre has thrown doubt on our activities.

We will be re-launching HopeScotch, our take on hopscotch, where players can change the world, for the better.

Some of us might even be hot-foot from The Big One,

We will also be collecting more signatures for our 'Do Something About TetraPaks' campaign.

Shovel-It-Yourself – Waterlane Leisure Centre, Lowestoft, Friday 12 May 10:00-15:00

A free event at which compost, processed from the material that residents separate into their garden waste bins in east Suffolk, will be given away free as a thank you to residents for recycling and closing the loop between the garden waste we generate and the compost we add to the soil and grow with. This event will help mark International Compost Awareness Week to help celebrate composting as the most sustainable way of dealing with our garden waste.

TetraPaks

We took two Builder's Bags full of flattened TetraPaks to Lowestoft Rcycling Centre in Haddenham Road on Easter Bank Holiday Monday. It was cold and drizzly.

The Centre was a bit taken aback by the quantity, and the source of the TetraPaks.

Because of this we will have to investigate, and to this end have asked the Environment Agency for advice.

Workmen are busy taking down the roof of the Triangle Sails, and have started to saw down the metal framework.

So far, the trees are still standing.

Lowestoft Town Council intends to improve the area by removing the sails, the structure, and two of the trees. They intend to replace the trees with other, smaller trees.

The harbour was originally built by the Lowestoft and Norwich Navigation Company and developed by the Norfolk Railway following the construction of the Norwich to Lowestoft railway.[4] The original Inner Harbour was constructed in 1831 when Lake Lothing was joined to the sea, as shown on a chart based on a survey by William Hewett of HMS Fairy dated 1834,[5] while the Outer Harbour was constructed in 1937.[4] The railway line ran along the north side of the docks and a series of docks railway sidings were used mainly for fishing and freight wagons.
